What are the high school “Tracks” and how do I determine where to place my child?
Because there is seldom a “typical” course plan for homeschooled students, we have divided our high school Core Program into “Tracks” rather than assigned grade levels. Depending on when a student enters Smith Prep and what classes he has already taken previously, a parent may choose the Track that best suits that child’s needs.
It is therefore common for our Tracks to have students in a mixture of grade levels. However, a student who completes our three year program will have the opportunity to complete all three Tracks. (The Wednesday classes alternate Tracks B and C every other year.)

What is “Advanced Math”?
The full title of this course is Advanced Topics in Mathematics (DOE course code 1298310) and is one full high school credit. This course has elements of Algebra II, Geometry, and an introduction to Trigonometry. We have designed this course to meet the DOE and Bright Futures requirements for a 4th math credit (beyond Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry). The student who who would take this course is one who has completed the three courses listed above, but is need of another “step” before moving into Pre-Calculus, Calculus, or College Algebra.
